Problems and treatment measures for edge cutting of weathering steel sheets for curtain walls

Edge cutting of weathering steel sheets for curtain walls is to make the width of the entire roll of weathering steel sheets for curtain walls reach the set value. In the process of producing weathering steel sheets for curtain walls below 0.5mm at high-speed belt running, the following problems are prone to occur:

1. Local arching

During the high-speed belt running process, the weathering steel sheets for curtain walls will suddenly have local arching at the cutting edge.

1) Reason 1

The outer diameter of the pressure ring and the outer diameter of the cutter disc are not matched reasonably, or the overlap parameter is set too large, causing the upper and lower pressure rings to squeeze and deform the weathering steel sheets for curtain walls.

Treatment measures: Re-match the pressure rings that are suitable for the cutter disc according to the thickness of the weathering steel sheets for curtain walls or appropriately reduce the overlap parameter.

2) Reason 2

The surface of the stabilizing roller of the disc shear is worn, and the roller gaps on the operating side and the transmission side are inconsistent. During shearing, the two sides of the weathering steel sheets for curtain walls cannot maintain the same tension, causing instantaneous local arching.

Treatment measures: Ensure the integrity and installation accuracy of the stabilizing roller surface and adjust the stabilizing roller gap so that the curtain wall rust steel plate can maintain stable operation before entering the disc shear to prevent instantaneous local arching.

3) Cause three

The deviation correction roller or the coiling machine mandrel is not perpendicular to the center line of the unit. Under the action of the coiling tension, the tension of the edges of the curtain wall rust steel plate on both sides is inconsistent. The running curtain wall rust steel plate will tend to slide to the side with smaller tension and squeeze with the cutter disc; and because of the different tension, the total length of the curtain wall rust steel plate on both sides passing through the disc shear per unit time is different, which accumulates to cause instantaneous local arching. Treatment measures: Adjust the deviation correction roller bearing seat or the coiling machine mandrel base to ensure that they are perpendicular to the center line of the unit.

2. Folding edge

1) Cause one

Cause The pressure ring pairing is unreasonable, the outer diameter of the upper pressure ring is too large or the overlap is set too large, causing the curtain wall rust steel plate to be subjected to a large extrusion force. Treatment measures: Replace the pressure ring with a smaller outer diameter or set the overlap amount reasonably to eliminate the edge folding.

2) Reason 2

The knife shafts on both sides of the disc shear are 0.25° outward relative to the center line of the unit (the curtain wall rust steel plate running outlet side). Because the rigidity and tension of the ultra-thin plate are not as good as those of the thick plate, the small outward angle causes the edge folding.
